Sointi Jazz Orchestra will have the Norwegian saxophonist-composer Marius Neset (1985) as their guest in August. With an international career, Neset’s personal tone and energetic playing have aroused interest all over the world.
Neset and the Sointi Jazz Orchestra will perform a selection of Neset’s compositions on the Pikku-Finlandia terrace, including the exact arrangements made for the SJO.
The Sointi Jazz Orchestra, formed by young professionals, is an 18-member band founded in the fall of 2013. SJO is known for its personal sound that renews the big band tradition, which is produced by their unusual instrumentation. Every year, the group performs new, unprejudiced and surprising concert ensembles, the compositions and arrangements of which are tailored specifically for the Sointi Jazz Orchestra.
